Trail Work Day
May 18, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Interested in spending time outside and meeting other hiking enthusiasts? Weantinoge has organized a series of Trail Work Days for volunteers. Volunteers help ensure our trails are in great condition and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for hikers.
Participants join Weantinoge staff and meet at the chosen preserve and work for about 3 hours with hand tools to trim back vegetation, clearing branches off the trail, and improving directional blazes with paint. All materials and hand tools will be provided. We strongly recommend wearing long sleeves, long pants tucked into your socks, and bug spray to discourage ticks and other bugs.
The Alice McAllister Memorial Sanctuary is part of over 400 acres that Weantinoge protects around Mud Pond. The 1-mile long trail offers wonderful opportunities for bird watching. Join us as we improve this trail so more people can enjoy this hidden treasure.
