Spring Story Walks with the Sherman Library

April 10 @ 8:00 am - April 18 @ 5:00 pm

From Saturday, April 10 to Sunday, April 18, the Sherman Library invites families to enjoy two stories while exploring the outdoors:  one in conjunction with Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy and the other with the Sherman School.  When registered, participants will receive a map for both locations.  Those who complete the walks and email a picture of their experience to the Sherman Library will earn a reward!   Photos will not be used by the Sherman Library without permission. Saving Special Places: Land Conservation in Connecticut at the Sherman Library

Sherman's conserved land makes this community a special place to live and play.  Curious about how the work of land conservation happens? In 2020, Naromi Land Trust merged with Weantinoge Heritage Land Trust and became Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy (NCLC).  NCLC is Connecticut’s largest land trust, permanently protecting over 12,500 acres of land in Litchfield and Fairfield Counties. Did you know that the first weekend in June is National Trails Day? On this weekend communities nationwide celebrate our natural lands by walking, hiking, or biking their favorite local trails. Connecticut is a Trails Day leader. Each year land trusts lead hundreds of events across the state.
