July 15 – Hike at the Hauser Preserve

Join us for a hike at the Hauser Preserve! This will be an easy, 1-mile walk along the edge of a hayfield, into the cool woods, and then back into the hayfield. The hike will be led by Zach Adams, NCLC’s public lands manager, and Marge Josephson, a member of the Naromi Council. With luck, hikers can expect to see several species of grassland birds. NCLC manages the hayfield for the grassland birds and delays mowing until after the nesting season. Bobolinks, with their cheerful, bubbling songs, can be seen here from May through July.
